Michael Walsh is a former Bostonite who left our brash cold city for the sunshine and seashores of southern Cali. A Dubspot instructor and synth enthusiast at heart, he occasionally puts out edits and originals, such as “Deep Down”, originally by Green Velvet. While Mr. Velvet’s original hints at the more aggressive side of peak-hour techno, Walsh’s re-interpretation focuses on its primal elements: those tribal drums. There are very few synths to be heard here, but who wants to hear lush keyboard solos while in the jungle anyhow? I want crickets and chirping birds and shit.
Grab Walsh’s edit below, follow him on Soundcloud, and be sure to flog the comments section with happy birthday wishes as, strangely enough, that’s also today.
