Less than one month after the Barera & Friends EP came a joint venture we did with the Together festival. Every year Together releases a compilation showcasing local up-and-coming dance/electronic artists across all styles. 2014 was the first year I helped curate this compilation, by reaching out to everyone individually and helping sort mastering, artwork and online promo.
To make things extra buzz-worthy, I figured it would be a cool idea to actually press up some of the better tracks that got submitted to me to vinyl. In the end, 6 out of over 30 tracks made the cut (pun intended lmao).
We didn’t release any house on this 12″, opting instead for tropical and future bass on the A-side, and dark dubstep on the flip. Undrig’s “Backslider” was particularly a favorite of mine; bar none the first track I knew had to see a release on vinyl.
