At this point I could probably put together a two-hour set just of dope house tracks that sample bars from Biggie Smalls. If you’re seriously thinking about doing that, you may want to consider adding “Dream” by Boston’s own Hot Pot to that playlist. While you don’t need to read Word Up magazine to figure out what the title suggests he’s sampling here, Hot Pot uses clever sound design gymnastics to transform the vocal a number of different ways to keep the listener invested throughout. The tune is also rounded out by a stabbing bassline and is featured on The Dugout, an upcoming promo channel.
