New Hampshire’s own Tone Ra unveils a collab with Wilder Hobson more than one full year in the making. “Undertow” incorporates Tone’s signature seamless blending of different styles, essentially split by frequency this time around. The sub, kick and snare formulate a rhythm more commonly found in bass music while the hats, claps and fills run in techno time. It drives forward relentlessly with a nervous sort of energy that is tough to contain. Definitely an interesting listen.
