Cirrus returned to Zakim with his sophomore release in the Summer of 2015. This is probably the first piece on the label that had artwork I was 100% happy with; everything just came together and the EP ended up being well received within the community.
Opening with a very strong title track, we witness Cirrus experiment with the half-time sound, which has since become quite a prominent sound in drum and bass. The backside includes some solid remix work from Graphs (who has released on Om Unit’s Cosmic Bridge imprint) as well as Mixmaster Doc (whos back catalogue includes 31 Recordings, Mac II and Creative Source).
“I Dunno” was released as a free download several months after the EP. It proves to be one of Cirrus’s most popular tracks; he opens many of his sets with it to this day.
FUN FACT: One of drum and bass’s most in-demand engineers, Fanu, provided mastering duties on this one. It was also the first release he mastered that was pressed to vinyl!
